Craftsman is doing the whole black friday sale, but the tools come in at a awesome price for sets/tool boxes.

Figured id give the heads up to whoever doesn't have a quality tool set/tool box

This is the one I bought a couple years ago, killer price for what you get. Only thing its really missing for us is a 12mm allen/hex socket, 19mm wrench, 36mm socket

I think only the Industrial line is domestically manufactured. For like 7 years now? At least the sets like these.

China and Taiwan were the outsourced manufacturers.

My first set was a Craftsman about 30 years ago and was made in the USA. A few years ago I needed a socket to change my differentials and went with a Craftsman, hearing they were still made in the USA, but was made in China. The quality difference was noticeable and ended up returning it for one made in the USA.

Like others have said, china. Its been china for quite some years, really your only option for usa is the big names like snapon/matco/proto but having all snap on/proto tools at work I could really care less what I'm using especially hand tools, hydraulic/air/electric tools I might be biased towards a USA branded one but thats not the case here

I don't want to turn this into a USA v China made debate, just posting a decent deal for those that need to buy some tools and want to save some money

maybe not for long though .. Pres elect Trump is going to make America great again and maybe all Craftsman tools will be back to being manufactured in the USA .. that or the prices will go way up due to additional 35% tariff that Trump wants to enact

Does Craftsman still have the lifetime deal on handtools?

Some of mine are 50+ years old. Last ones I bought are probably 10 now.............

While some brands may be better to make a living with (more comfortable) Craftsman has been just fine for the shadetree. Including some heavy duty stuff, pounding with hammers, etc.

I've had more problems with the fine tooth 3/8" ratchets than anything, and they are fairly new (China) provided as replacements to some oldies that I either wore out or scored at garage sales.

Possibly but who knows at this point, I'm not against them being USA made. They are just the cheapest lifetime replacement tools, besides HF but you end up with a random mismatched set of tools lol.

Yeah just take broken tools in and they will pick a new one off the shelf for you.

My buddies have the ratchets that were made before mine and usually the teeth are all messed up, mine which I'm assuming are the current generation 36 tooth ones and haven't had an issue yet. I do want to upgrade to the 72t ratchets to make the tight spots a little better

Yes, Craftsman still has lifetime warranty. Yes, they are made in China (so are some of my Snap-On tools).
Another option is Home Depot. The Husky tools are also coming with lifetime warranty. Though I do not know what their replacement process is.

Believe it or not, I had a pair of Harbor Freight wire cutters chip a piece off the tip and brought it back with their lifetime warranty and picked a new one off the shelf = gotta love that! :yay:

I had a Craftsman ratchet from 30+ years ago start slipping and brought it back and was given a new one off the shelf. The only thing I didn't like about the replacement, is that it didn't have a zerk to keep the bearing lubricated, but I can't complain about getting a 30+ year ratchet replaced free of charge, even if it was made in China. :yay:

In my opinion, garage/Estate sales are really goldmines for people that want vintage quality tools, that are affordable and at times just plain steals. I have scored so many finds at about 80% off.

Shok Industries 2/0 big 4 upgrade and sound deadener.
    Please expound.

The max axess sets are really nice. I bought the set a few years ago with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drives but I think they are only doing 3/8 and 1/2 now. Still a really nice set without having to worry about needing a deep well. Plus if you're removing say an tie rod with an allen you can use your allen without having to fumble with a wrench. I only wish they'd expand the line up. They have adapter to use standard square drive sockets but haven't produced anything more than 3' extensions.
