    whats up guys,
Looking for a new tool box for my 08 trd off-road.
All the posts I had seen were older and for the most part led me nowhere that still existed.

I'd like to a get a black toolbox, but trying to find the right one is a pain. I'm gonna install my own locks so I'm not so worried about that. Just how it looks.

I really like the low profile look that kobalt offers but it doesn't seem as easy to find anymore.

If you have great toolboxes or any advice please let me know!

As always it's a pleasure to be apart of this community!

    Share pics if you can!

So in other words you don't want a factory....

I don't have the low profile one because they didn't make a narriowrr one and I thought the full sized looked too big for the Short bed so I got the normal height one and narrow one and I like it.
    Mines a UWS.

Sorry only pictures I have right now are when I was stuck Haha. If you have any questions I might can answer let me know.

image.jpg image.jpg I found this toolbox at homedepot. It was free shipping to store. Installed in 2007 Tacoma short bed. Sits below side rails. Real happy with quality.

I have a silver UWS (Part # TBS-63-A). I like it a lot. Mine is not low profile and it does block a good bit of the rear window. There is about 6 inches between the bottom of the toolbox and the bed to slide things underneath.

Make sure you get a wedge cut box unless you have a long bed. I have heard that it won't clear the wheel wells.

It looks like they make a low profile black version... https://www.amazon.com/UWS-TBS-63-LP-BLK-Aluminum-Insulated/dp/B0017HB3SS

It looks like the height of the box is the same for the low profile and regular box. I assume this means there is less space to slide things under the tool box (if that matters to you)
