I know there's a few threads on bed covers, but I was wandering if anyone had suggestions on the retractable covers specifically?

    Retractable?

I just put in a Rugged Cover 2, after picking it up from the dealer (tri fold)

My friend at work swears by http://www.retrax.com/

    Truck covers usa!

Its like having a rolling gate on your bed. I love it, its a little more expensive but it will keep people out atless they want to spend time getting in their. It locks every foot, a little bit of silicone spray keeps it working great. Lots of drainage spots. The only place I get water is through the sides of my tailgate.

The Retrax has a drain pipe you can connect to one of the bed drain holes I believe

I've looked at both of them. I'm just not sure if I can see myself spending that much for the Cover USA. For that one, have you been able to seal the areas where it is leaking around the tailgate?

I was considering one before the dealer through in the tri fold.
They are nice and I would love to have one but holy fuck are they ever expensive up here in Canada.
Was looking at around $2700 after tax. That's a little bit too steep for me.

I have a Retrax one MX. I'm happy with it. Like it better than previous bakflip VP or X2, etc. much cheaper than the Retrax Pro. Retrax One is Lexan vs aluminum but I honestly don't notice the difference.

I'm trying to decide between the retrax and the gator , they both get great reviews but I'm leaning towards the retrax in the flat black composite material.

Do you have any leakage problem with the Retrax?

All retractable are going to have some sort of leaking. Water gets in the rails and doesn't always flow to the drain tubes. Happened with my $1500 full metal pace Edwards. It's not that much but you can see the water droplets on the bed.

I have the gasket but I haven't had time to install. It's a universals gasket for the tailgate. For the bed itself I just had to put two silicone beads in the left and right corners in front. Through the car wash I get about an 1/4 cup of water back there at most. Normal rain hardly any.

Ya they sell it on Amazon. It's such a small amount of water though. If your not in a car wash it hasn't been an issue.

Gotcha. So if I have a retractable and keep whatever I have in the bed in the middle, it'll stay dry?

Yes sir, the rails have drainage so it should be really minimal. I've never had anything get damaged

Any issues with UV or cold weather on the lexan? I read somewhere the slats tend to crack in cold weather
