I'd recommend the EBC kit then. I think everything else requires atleast 17" rims. You won't be disappointed, plus it will be a lot cheaper to replace than the big brake kits. You can just reorder the kit and get new rotors and pads every time for only $280 or so.

Are you running 16" wheels? Where the best place to purchase?

I ran EBC yellow pads and ebc slotted rotors on my first gen. They are a noticeable jump from OE ceramic pads, but they still fade pretty quick with spirited driving. My second gen sucks balls for braking power. Granted it's over 6000 pounds, but aftermarket brakes and big brake kits are apples and oranges.

Been trying to find a good upgrade to work with by 16" wheels. And I have a Four Wheel Camper.

Yea, I'm running 16's. It's the same caliper so no change in offset or rim size. just google EBC S5KF1347 and you should be able to find it for close to $280. I think I was able to find mine for $260.
I mean I only have 31's for the time being but I never feel any fade or like I could need more even when I drive like a real dick wagon. These things will get abs to go at 70mph+. Also, as stated, its the best you can do with 16 inch rims, which is a deal breaker for me at least.

Also, apples and oranges, are pretty similar in the grand scheme of things. Round, edible, fruit even, both grow on trees. I never understood that expression. Maybe apples and dark matter would be a better idiom.

    Thanks for the link!

    Ahem. It's safety third.

I'd love to run that six-piston caliper set up, but the cost becomes prohibitive when factoring in new wheels and tires, especially when I'm not using my truck as a race car. Even with the added weight. Maybe one day.

I kept hearing the EBC pads fade, hence why I went with the Hawk pads. No complaints.

    Haha awesome analysis.

I went through every combination of hawk brakes on my track car and it was only 2250 pounds. The only shit that was worth a damn was their full race pads. And they were sooooooo loud.

Can't recall, but are you running with snorkel as well? Also did you happen to ditch K&N filter that came with kit?

Cool, so I guess the snorkel isn't a restriction like some people seem to think.

The snorkel has a larger ID than the stock intake. People are dumb.

i'm happy to hear of the progress you guys are making. i have those Hawk pads ready to go in as soon as they are needed. sounds like it may be sooner rather than later.

prior to getting blown i wanted to get a clean bill of health. to be honest, i was kinda worried because at the first spark plug change, 29,288 miles, there was quite a bit of oil on each plug. i mean all six plugs had a lot of friggen oil. so fdi brought the plugs into the local dealer and had the service manager and a tech look at them. they appeared kind of worried but did the company thing and said it was 'normal'. so for this install i was terrified that i was going to get in there and see a bunch of oil. the last thing i want to do is take unforced delays arguing for a warranty fix on valve cover gaskets while all these goodies are sitting around on my floor and not it my truck. i'm at 40,885 miles now, so 11,597 miles after the spark plug change and the 1st plug on the drivers side looks like this:

clean bill of health! i think it looks great. sorry for the giant picture. hoping for a Thanksgiving Day install. um, i'm thankful for boost!

Can't say I've experienced the same, then again, I haven't used my truck as a 2250lbs race car. I'm happy with my set up.

However, I have used EBC and Vesrah brake pads on a 600RR, and I preferred Vesrah. But that's a 400lbs motorcycle under much more extreme stress than my truck.

I feel like I need to re-learn how to drive this truck all over again. All this extra power and I dont know what to do with it haha. I have made several shifts and had the truck yell at me about it.

did you decide where you are going to put the Blue Sea fuse box? I see you elected not to mount the intercooler reservoir in the alternate location.

On my 1st gen when it was time to new rotors and pads, I went with Centric. I was thoroughly impressed. The guy who test drove it before buying it almost put himself through the windshield the first time he hit the brakes. Not grabby, just commanding. I've been thinking about putting them on the 2nd gen. Brakes just suck ass on this truck. At least the suspension sucks ass, too. And I'll be adding a fair bit of weight, not to mention when fully loaded and mountain towing.
