Good luck in your search Mike. Any chance of a follow-up news appearance? Seems like your last one drummed up that potential donor that fell through on you. those donor matching/trading programs are terrific. Hopefully you can get a few friends/family willing to offer one up for a swap and you can get this whole thing moving along for you. I just heard a story the other day about a young guy (20's) who overheard a couple strangers in a coffee shop talking about someone who needed a transplant but was having no luck. Without knowing anyone involved, the guy decided he wanted to do something profoundly good with his life, got approved for a match and went through with the donation. (I believe it was a kidney). Just stay positive and know there are a lot of great people out there, and do what you can to keep your story out there.

    thanks!

yah the news is hard to get back on, especially with all the focus on politics right now... i am on the pair exchange program but so far, all my potential donors were only interested in direct donation, but they have all been disqualified due to health reasons anyway...

but still promoting so hoping for good news soon...

Why so important to be direct donor? Seems silly. Instead of saving 1 life you're helping to save 2.

Good luck. Stay positive. Enjoy every day, because tomorrow is guaranteed for NONE of us.

yah i know... most folks just want to donate to one person... for some, it's hard enough to come forward with a part of their body... either way, nobody has passed the screening process to even be considered healthy enough to donate... sigh...

Just keep a positive attitude. I'm in year 5 or 6 of FSGS. I've already doubled the average time to transplant and hope to go a lot more. Either way, there's not much I can do about it but hope for the best. Good luck with yours.

I'm stable. The chest pains aren't as often right now but getting other pains. They found calcification of the femoral ligament in my right groin. Hurts like hell when it flares up. I have to see an orthopaedic specialist to determine treatment.

My 9th potential donor got disqualified a couple weeks ago so back to square one. I kind of lost motivation and hope at this point. Just taking it day by day. I figure every morning I wake up I'm grateful and not taking life for granted. Just enjoying the time with my kids as much as possible.

Other than that though I can't complain. I seen other patients in worse condition.

    Thanks for asking! =)

oh i don't get any money from the Cafepress shirts... because i used the bitmoji cartoon of me, i can't make money off it... the pricing on them is their cost... but im only selling the shirts through there to spread the word... at this point, i figure im better off alive than out of debt... hahhahaha...

no worries on direct donations... it's Xmas time, so I want folks to spend their money on their families...

yah, my kids don't ask for anything anymore... my 13 year old understands my situation and is happy with a Target gift card. my 7 year old is learning and when I asked her what she wants for Xmas, all she wants is Shopkins which she has too much of, and chocolate... hahhaha...

Never give up hope and never stop fighting brother. If the worst does happen you want you girls to know that you were swinging till the end. Good is going to happen brother.

Word. I work hard to keep spirits up. I don't let them see me down. I find ways to decompress in my man time.
