    Hey guys,

Just looking for some advice on what you would recommend for a decent jack and jack stands. Before everyone starts recommending harbor freight, let me start by staying I live in Hawaii so they are not an option. What is an option is Amazon prime :), Sears, Costco, Wal Mart, K Mart. Those places have free shipping or shipping that won't bend me over and go in raw. I'm not looking for anything that is amazing, just something reasonable that won't break the bank. Also, something where i won't have to use blocks of wood anymore. I almost had my Tacoma fall today after the wood cracked. I have been getting away with using wood and car stands positioned in the right places but id like to stop doing that now.

    thanks for your guys help

This Arcan 3 ton jack is similar to one I got on craigslist (I'd suggest checking there, though obviously you may find limited selection) and it's worked really well for me. This 2 ton Arcan (with Prime) or this 3 ton Powerzone also look reasonable to me and won't break the bank (with shipping).

Jack stands - these are good ones for Taco's on Prime - Torin T46002A 6 ton, since they have good height.

sweet thanks! those stands look good. I have the Arcan 2.5 ton one from costco. it's like 3 or 4 years old. still going strong but it barely lifts the tires off now that i have a lift and larger tires. i'm looking for something with a little more height.

For the jack, go to your local building supply and buy a 4x4 post. Cut off about 8" and put that sideways on top of the jack pad. You just increased your lift height 4" for very little cost. If you want more stability, buy a couple of bolts, and then drill/tap the jack pad to match. Run bolts through the block to lock it down solid if you are concerned. I've been using this for years to get the rear of my boat up off the bunks so I can clean/wax the bottom in the off-season.

I bought a decent floor jack at my local Napa auto parts. Any of those in Hawaii?
