I've decided to make a build thread to document progress and photos of my truck. Better late than never.

    On July 10th, 2016.
I drove home in my newly purchased 2016 TRD Sport in Barcelona Red. This is my first truck purchase ever and couldn't be happier. Coming from a background of modifying cars, I knew it wasn't going to be easy keeping this stock.

Quick photo on some construction site.

    IMG_7028.jpg

    July 29th, 2016.
Got the truck a little dirty.

    IMG_7070.jpg
    IMG_7069.jpg IMG_7068.jpg

    August 13th, 2016.
Decided to do the DIY A/C line reroute. Earlier that day I took the truck in to Toyota get the TSB Transmission flash done and also had them check my transmission fluid level. They said it was half a quart low.

    IMG_7229.jpg

    August 24th, 2016.
My new Rays Volk Racing TE37x wheels had just come in. Specs are 16x8 +0 and had to get them in Bronze to match the set going on the car.

    IMG_7323.jpg IMG_7324.jpg

2016 Manufacture date vs. 2001 Manufacture date. You can notice some slight color differences. Could also be the 2001 set had a little fade from sun.

    RAXV1912.jpg

    August 28th, 2016.
Red truck. Red bike. I got the windows tinted the following day. 35% up front and 20% in the back. Installed the OPT7 LED low beam bulbs as well.

    IMG_7348.jpg

    October 12th, 2016.
Ordered my TRD Pro grill and shift knob from Partznet and I was a victim of broken tabs. Wasn't that big an issue as everything still went on fine, and Derek ended up compensating me for the damage. Also, scheduled my 5k service on October 22nd, 2016. Had them include an oil change as well because it wasn't included in the service.

    IMG_7639.jpg

    November 3rd, 2016.
Received the TRD Pro skid plate and black hood scoop from Partznet. I was so anxious to get them on so I installed them that night.

    FullSizeRender-4.jpg
Ended up picking up the OEM black front bumper piece from a member here on TW. And the fender flares from a local TW member. Also had some time to plastidip all of the emblems and remove the TRD SPORT sticker on the bed.
    IMG_7858.jpg

    November 10th, 2016.
Lift kit is finally here! Ordered from DownSouth Motorsports. Ended up going with King Shocks front and rear with external reservoirs, Total Chaos UCA's and ARB/OME Dakar leaf pack. So pretty.

    IMG_7841.jpg IMG_7848.jpg IMG_7847.jpg IMG_7846.jpg IMG_7843.jpg IMG_7840.jpg IMG_7839.jpg

    November 12th, 2016.
Picked up some tires for the wheels. Ended up going with BF Goodrich K02's in 285/75/16.

    IMG_7860.jpg

Installed the TRD Pro tails that morning.
Took the wheels and tires to my friends shop to get them mounted.

    IMG_7863.jpg IMG_7865.jpg IMG_7877.jpg IMG_7874.jpg IMG_7876.jpg IMG_7879.jpg PISN3499 (1).jpg
    IMG_7868.jpg

    November 13th, 2016.
Set the wheel next to the truck to get a glimpse of what it will look like. I can't wait to get the lift on this weekend.
Got some new Rays lug nuts to match from ICB Motorsports. I have to buy 2 sets of 16 lugs for the truck due to the 6 lug bolt pattern.

    IMG_7880.jpg
    IMG_7881.jpg

    November 19th, 2016
So, today was install Day. Started around 9am, and I was torquing down the lug nuts on the last wheel right around 9:20pm. A 12 hour affair, with a few breaks here and there. Considering this was my first time doing truck suspension with limited space, tools, and experience, I thought I did pretty well. lol. Beats paying a shop $1200... Which is what I was quoted by a local truck shop.

Took it out for a quick spin to check for odd noises. Its definitely a different feeling being lifted with balloon tires. Truck looks weird without the skid plate. (Buddies Mugen TSX on bronze TE's.)

    November 20th, 2016
Got an alignment first thing in the morning. TRD Pro skid plate is back on, along with the Rigid LED fogs. The ride is a little on the stiff side and I'm hoping it gets a little softer over time. Loving the outcome so far.

TRD Rigid fogs came in today, but didn't have time to install them. Ill do those tomorrow after my alignment and throw the TRD skid back on.

Thanks man. It was between the te37x and the 18" ones they offer, but after seeing yours and that other guys with the mag blues I had to go 16".

Any rubbing yet? Looking at a similar lift setup when I can get over the sticker shock, and I've been holding off on tires because of it.

Yup. Sliders are on my to do list. Mobtown sliders are super tempting with their Black Friday deal right now.
