Deal with the wind noise. If you off road, I suspect you are putting more stress on your transmission(and other areas). Leave the cooler where it is. It's far more important than noise reduction.

I agree it's more important. but what I might just end up doing is moving it, installing a fan to it and installing a ultragauge to monitor the temps. im really tired of the wind noise. I even pulled off the headboard and put sound deadening over the whole top of the truck. light bar has to go unless someone knows a sure way to get it to shut up lol

Tried the rubber in the fins, tried a cover, tried sound deadening, tried a multitude of things. next option is remove it.

Came here looking for help and I've mainly just got Grammer Nazis and keyboard warriors. I thought this was a place for help. Looks like I was wrong.

You gotta admit though, the idea of someone moving their transmission cooler out of direct airflow to install a light at is funny :stirthepot:

In all seriousness, since you do go off-road a lot and would benefit from it I'd just get an upgraded transmission cooler that's has a larger surface area, but it slimmer and can be mounted directly in front of the condenser. I don't have the pics in my phone, but I'm pretty sure I've posted them here before. Hayden 279? I think it was?

It's not even that. For all i know it can be moved somewhere that conveniently gets airflow and is out of my way. People are pretty smart on this page. (Usually)

You received two very viable options for relocating the transmission oil cooler. If neither of those work for what you'd like, your thread has been up for less than 24 hours, maybe someone else will chime in that's relocated it and has a different solution.

Have you searched through 2nd gen build threads of people with lights behind the grille to see if you can ask someone what they did, or maybe even contact BAMF who made the bracket and see if they have a solution for you?

What lights did you get for behind the grille?
