So i was just about to pull the trigger on a Rockville 10" 800 watt dlim fit powered sub, its about 115 bucks. I plan to fit it under my driver seat. Now i saw something about jeep guys mounting it on the back hatch door or against the side of the wall inside the back to "maximize bassiness" This thing will be right under my ass so the bass will definetely be felt, but i also want as much bass as i can squeeze out of this little thing. Would it be wiser to mount it along the back wall between the two seats in my Access cab? Or say nahhh and just mount it under the driver seat?

Any and all help is appreciated because im super eager to get this and my new head unit in as soon as possible!

Not sure which would provide more bass however logically under your seat you will feel it more and in the other spot the bass would be more centered and spread out more throughout the truck

I too thought about doing this with a dual coil 12, theres a website that makes and ships those for like 150 out the door carpet and perfect fit. I was gonna do it but then realized i dont have like 400 to throw at a stereo set up because i dont want to build the box myself. So a 80 dollar head unit and a 115 dollar sub seems like the best option because i sometimes need the back for people and such.

Your call although having a box makes it better. Even though u said you don't want o make one you could make a very simple one out of wood from home depot for pretty cheap. Mount the amp on it too and you can make a portable with a quick I disconnect for the wiring whenever you want to move the box
    But hey your truck

10" down firing sub. But you're right, for the budget you probably can't do it this way.

I have the same sub. Think it was cheaper on ebay for me. However, I have had it for 3 years and have nothing but good things to say about it. Great hitting sub! Especially under your seat you can feel it. Can also rattle your truck when knob is turned up all the way. I'd get it and put it under your seat. Also it detours theft as no one know you'd have a sub

Yah man i get it, thanks for the help! Under the seat also keeps it stealthy so those prying eyes cant be seeing what to steal from me :spy:

Hah! Read my mind with the stealing thing! But yah this thing has so many good reviews and eveeyone loves it, rattle the truck is enough for me honestly. Guess its sounding like under the seats the way to go for concealability and neatness.

Haha I saw! With the right settings on a headunit it sounds great. Before I adjusted the settings I was remorseful of my purchase but then got it tuned great! Perfect little thing

Exactly what the Amazon reviews said, tune it right and the thing sounds like a 12!

Happen to know of a cheap amp, that's the only thing stopping me from installing my sub.

You will have to play with the position of the sub. Each vehicle is different as far as how the sub will sound in each position. Just leave yourself some cable to play with so that you can move the box around before deciding on a final resting place.

I have a little Sound Ordnance 8" from Crutchfield under my seat. I used to have it behind the back seats.

I moved it mostly because I wanted the extra storage space back, but I'm usually alone and the bass response is better for me where it is now.
