IMG_8152.jpg IMG_8151.jpg Have a 2011 Tacoma TRD Pro, 4.0, 4WD new to the site guys. Anyway, went underneath the truck today to do an oil change and noticed an oil leak.

Traced it up to the crank pulley, pulled the pulley to find this....

Has anyone seen this? Pulley has cracked, and right where the Keyway fits.

Anyone have a reasonable explaination as to how this even happened, other than too much torque to the pulley from the crank?

    Help! Thanks Fellas!!

maybe the pulley was fitting a little sloppy, maybe it wasn't tightened down quite to specs, maybe the key was a little loose... just stabbing in the dark here... it does look serious!

Should be covered under 5 yr/60k mile warranty might be on the edge for you, but worth a shot as its powertrain related.

Maybe someone tried to remove it (the wrong way) and put it back on when it was cracked?

wow, ive pulled quite a few crank pulleys off on various vehicles and have never seen them damaged like that. Maybe it had a hairline crack from the factory that grew?
