That froth on the cap actually occurs from moisture forming due to the engine not being run up to temperature for a sufficient amount of time to be able to burn off said moisture. It used to happen on my old new school GTO. I'm sure it happens on this one for me as well.

I would be more interested in seeing what the oil on the dipstick looks like. If it is milky there, then we got issues.

If you are still suspect of a blown head gasket, make the dealer perform a cylinder leakage test on the engine before you buy it. Anything below 20-25% and you are in business. Anything over… is bad.

It's an SR5. I agree the price is on the high side. The rest of the truck looks good besides a few scratches etc. I haven't seen the car fax yet.

I would walk on this one. Dirty oil, old coolant, points to lack of maintenance on the P.O's part.

To put it into perspective I paid 6k Canadian for my 2005 trd offroad with about 130k miles, and it's getting a new frame. It needs rocker panels, but those aren't too pricey, lots of local body shops up north here keeps prices down.

    That's $4462 USD

That's a steal! I would take a rusty one for that. The rest of this truck is fairly nice. No rust body wise.

Same truck wi frame replaced goes for 12k plus. Makes no sense to me as the frame replacement is free (mostly)

Curse of the 05's. It could be from short trips and the oil jot getting up to temp long enough, but on an 05 I wouldn't chance it.

If oil from the oil dipstick doesn't have any milky color like the cap then its normal. Not every car builds up condensation under the cap like that but I do see it from time to time at my work.

The two photos look normal to me.

    11K isn't too bad.

Oil on the stick is pretty dark.

Personally I would avoid an 05. That was the 1st year of the generation and the kinks weren't worked out yet. 05s have head gasket issues, so if that one hasn't had it yet, it very well could end up having one. The motor mount gussets were redesigned later on because they are kinda weak on the 05s and were cracking.

I would assume the new frame would have the updated motor mounts.

I hope all 05's don't have head gasket issues as I just bought one.

I'll check the motor mounts as I do another run through.

Ok. Finally done a good run through and drive. The coolant did not bubble or gargle in the radiator or overflow container. Frame has the updated engine mounts. The lowest I could talk them down is $13750. They were asking 14600.
