I've got stock rear springs off of my '12 laying around. They only have about 2000 km on them before I went with an OME kit. 50 bucks, come by and pick them up, and do the work yourself, probably save yourself a grand.

Phoned my local dealership yesterday to book an appointment for the Limited Service Campaign S0SH-L08-1A (catalytic Converter) and asked the service rep about the leaf spring recall (S0SH-969-1A) and he confirmed that Toyota Canada just released the parts. I have an appointment for both on Monday.

Just got back from my work done an Heninger Toyota in Calgary for the Limited Service Campaign S0SH-L08-1A (Catalytic Converter) and Rear Leaf Spring recall (S0SH-969-1A). Have not had a chance to drive it much to see if there is any difference in the feel of the new leaf springs.

I just called and have an appointment for install in a couple of weeks. They said they can only do six vehicles a week due to demand but I'm just happy to have it done after all. I had my Tacoma written off due to hail damage, and took the repair payout and I'm keeping her :) 300,000+ kms

I picked up my reimbursement cheque from the dealership on Friday.

I had replaced my rear leaf packs in 2013 with Dakars and AALs. I put them on the truck by myself.

I had to provide a letter requesting the reimbursement. A copy of the invoice for the parts and proof of payment. It was maybe two weeks waiting.

Similar here except I had a shop do the work since I couldn't get reimbursed for my own labor. Not sure why everyone apparently wants to miss out on a free upgrade

Hey guys, this is my first post - sorry for being late to the party.

So I just picked up a 2007 DCLB Sport over the weekend. The PO had the springs replaced a couple years back on his dime, and never claimed the reimbursement. Apparently they are Standen's with an extra leaf. The factory recall was never done.

Any thoughts on whether I'm still eligible for reimbursement of prior work, or reimbursement for brand new, to me, aftermarket springs (emu dakar, etc.)? I definitely don't want stockers put back in, but would like to benefit from the recall.

    Thanks.

Without the receipt and proof of payment and a reimbursement request letter that you sign, you are not going to be able to get reimbursed.

Then call the service dept. and ask them how to proceed.

In your name? Honestly, you already got upgrade springs on somebody else's dime not sure what more you could really ask for?

Just got the letter on Friday for spring replacement.
In April 2015 they put in new ones during the frame swap; 48210-04660 and 48220-04300.
Wonder if they will still swap them again?

They will probably inspect them and tell you that you are not affected and do nothing. Maybe you can have a shop install a leaf pack of your choice, write you a cause condition remedy letter and you can try to get reimbursed. That's what I did but I am in California and never got a frame replacement

What does Toyota Canada have to say about this?

Wasn't there a guy in the news recently because Toyota wouldn't release his truck due to frame rust? He had to rent another truck on his dime in order to be able to work, and it was ongoing for months, so he got in touch with the local consumer affairs reporter. Maybe try that route.

Confirmed with Shop Manager that these part numbers are the replacement springs going on other trucks.
    So no further action.

Got my call today from my dealership on the recall.
I know it's a given, but I always like to see totota extend the support to the earlier years too

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I have good news to share.

Lethbridge Toyota did a bang up job of replacing my rear leafs back in November, WHAT a difference!!!

They also added an extra leaf that I supplied for a very nominal fee.

I made an appointment back in July 2016. I dropped off my truck at lunch and picked it up after work. New springs, no questions asked.
