Hello I'm a new member of tacoma world. I was hoping to get a little help with my problem. I am having troubles with my dome light. It doesn't want to come on when I open my door. I've checked the voltage with a meter and the only way I get 12 volts to the socket is when I turn my map lights on. Kinda weird if u ask me so I'm hoping someone here can help.

Check the door plugs to see if they aren't stuck closed.

make sure the switch has power, pull out the fixture and check at the wire connection. In my 02 I cleaned the contacts in the switch to get the dome to work with the door open.

I know its simple but make sure the switch is not in the off position. theres three modes, on, off and door. someone could of pushed the switch by accident. make sure its pushed to the left(towards the passenger side).
