Is anyone interested in getting the TRD Exhaust for their Tacoma?

    PTR03-35161X

I have seen prices for about 619-700 before shipping. I am such a noob but I have no idea what benefits this would do, besides the noise in the cab. I have seen some vids on YouTube and each driver says in the Cab it sounds great but not much of a growl outside.

    Thanks!

Benefits to performance zero. Benefits to sound, up to interpretation. I don't think it's worth it

Agreed. @FirstTacoma!! If you want a louder exhaust, Gibson would be a better bet. Cheaper too. I have a Gibson on mine and had one on my old Dakota as well.

this^^ we already have a nice exhaust at most I'd swap out the muffler....which many
have and many switched right back... including myself. This engine just didn't sound right
with an aftermarket exhaust. I did go with the CAI, which sounds very good both at
idle and @wot it sounds great!

Here's a pic of my TRD exhaust. Not too loud but it is deeper than stock.

Ha.. I think it means Long Wheel Base. On TRDShop.com they are selling 2 versions of it. I can't figure out which one I have either.

Oh ok. I'm not sure which one I got. I just told my service rep to put it on. I'll check my invoice and see if it states which one I got.

I took a sound clip of it when I first took delivery and honestly, I couldn't tell a difference from stock. I also recorded it on my iPhone and possibly covered the mic with my fingers so that could be the reason. A week later though, it sounds much better. Could definitely tell a difference when I'm on the highway or just cruising down my neighborhood. It has a nice deep tone, nothing raspy.

I played around a lot with the exhaust on my 4.0 gen 2. I came to realize that no matter what you do, its still a V6, it will sound like a V6, and the butt dyno is barely noticeable.

Ahh I see. Thinking of getting a Flowmaster 50 series. Heard a clip of one on YouTube and sounded mean on the throttle yet quiet when off it.
