so here is my issue with my truck, when I accelerate like normal driving, its ok but after I let off the gas and let it just cruise, you can hear this whomp....... whomp....... whomp....... seems like after every rotation. but also lets say I step on the gas a little bit, like going on the on ramp to the freeway, it will stay on 3rd for a little bit and shift 4th kind of like a jump to 4th. Auto Trans by the way. and on the street when it shifts to 5th at 40mph it sounds like a diesel truck while cruising at 40 mph the rpm is about 1100 on 5th at 40 mph. could it be the transmission fluid being low that it makes the whomp sound?? or is it that the carrier bearing needs spacers? cause when its on 4wd hi, it doesn't make any whomp sounds or all the above. I only have 19700 miles on my truck but I am also gona take it to the dealer tomorrow to see whats up or if the trans fluid is low. plus its still under warrenty.

I would start off by checking the tranny fluid. Auto trans can get wonky when they are low on fluid. Its a good place to start and is a cheap and quick fix if it is the issue.

well after driving a few...... its not the flat spot. I can move the cv axle about half inch upwards so im guessing its the bushing inside the diff that connects to the cv uuggghhhhh im guessing get the ecgs bushing??

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Are you moving the axle or the cup? The cup should not move vertically but the axle will have some play.

If you still have warranty left, I'd milk it for what's it worth.

yeah it is move vertically about 1/2inch up but dealer cant replicate the sound so SOL until it comes back well it does come back when I warm up but after driving it for awhile it goes away. its a hit and miss. im thinking of getting the ecgs clamshell to counter that

it is the cv. just ordered the ecgs bushing so when I get it hopefully find time to install. I swear whats the point of having warranty if they are not gonna let you use it. dealers find ways to by pass shit like this
