On my current car I typically average 28 - 30 MPG when I head to work. On my way home it can be as low as 17 MPG

In the morning I leave early enough that I don't have to share the road with mom's dropping kids off at school and ladies putting make up on while they drive to work because they're late. So, my mornings are pretty much smooth sailing. Leaving work is a different story because now I'm sharing the road with mini vans and zombie people leaving work who look like they just spent the last 8 hours plugged into a machine that sucked their life out and scrambled their brains. They do shit like drive 5 below, no sense or care to notice the difference between a fresh and stale green, texting, zoning out and accelerating ever so slow.
Everyday is a challenge to keep myself away from these dangerous people and stay ahead of them. I don't do the douchey driving where i'm zipping in and out of lanes and cutting people off. I'm very strategic, memorizing which lanes to be in for certain intersections. Some intersections have a million cars wanting to turn left so I need to be in the right lane and then switch back left because the next intersection everyone wants to turn right.

All this to say I agree with you. MT's are more dynamic and have more range. I can be in eco or sport mode on the fly. Shit, I can even be in eco-sport mode if I wanted (harder acceleration from 1 - 3 to get to speed then keep it in high gears.

Funny - more and more cars in Germany are now automatics. Not nearly as many as in the US, but definitely noticeable.

I test drove a TRD OR DCSB in an AT and an MT. I ordered an MT :militarypress:

@TSki any pictures of a German Toyota dealer lot with Tacomas on it? Be interesting to see.

I can get one.. I pass a doublecab OR every day on the way to work.. they certainly don't stock a lot of Tacomas.. it's typically one.. then it disapears and is replaced a few weeks by another. And these dealerships cater to the US military out here.. So it may not be the same in regular Germany

my last car was fast, highly modified, and had flappy paddle shifters with a fast shifting box. then it got totaled. changed over to my wifes old car, a base level subie 5MT with high mileage and zero power. and i swear i'm feeling twice as fast as the original car. now getting into a 6MT with more than twice the power sounds like the space shuttle to me also.

no gramps here. he's way behind me but with a much lower gas bill. :)

    SUMMARY 2.0:

ANDRE didn't see the ATRAC button
Mike Sweers lied when asked about the MT getting worse MPG than the Auto. No, Mike.. it couldn't possibly be the trans/diff gearing. Autos are better than humans at shifting.. yup, that's it.

Mike Sweers has been a liar for many years. No love lost for that man.

My first thought after watching this "review" of the Pros was - Man, the next time Andre is that close to Sweers he should ask him how he plans on fixing the multitude of issues with these trucks! Watch him squirm and lie then.

    Lol, perhaps..

I do feel that TFL truck, among many others, are compromised by the fact that publishing truly unbiased/honest (sometimes shitty) reviews might very well dry up their source of equipment to yap about.

Of course it would. Thus trusting reviews is difficult. Best drive it for yourself and make your own decision
