I will apologize first thing if this is ultimately a dumb question. I searched the forum for an answer beforehand.

I bought a 2012 Access Cab, 4 Cylinder, RWD Base Model with 16,000 miles on it a couple of years ago. It still only has 24,000 miles on it. I have finally realized that what I wanted all the while was a PreRunner in Speedway Blue--something raised and more "manly" looking. Trading down to a 2011 for the Speedway Blue color, but trading up to a PreRunner 6 Cylinder RWD will end up costing me at least $6-8,000.

I could convince myself to keep my boring metallic gray, underpowered 2012 if I was able to raise it, add some larger tires, and add fender Flares that look like the ones that come on the raised Pre-Runner models.

My question then: Can one add fender flares that look pretty much like the ones that trucks come with? I would prefer flares that are color matched (Gray Metallic). I know that lifting the truck and adding larger tires is a no-brainer, I just don't know if the fender flares are feasible or not. Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

Weathertech Fender Flares are, if a bit spendy, next to no-drill (a hole or two needs to be drilled on the rocker panel lip). They are also paintable.

@SleazyPetey - this is a regular cab with the fender-flares and beefed up tires and level/lift. I am assuming that it's a 5-lug that you own. Keep in mind, you'll need to do something about your rims in terms of size, offset, and back-spacing, to bring the wheels out from under the fender lip, so that the appearance of being tucked in, is fixed. If your's is a 5-lug, i do suggest that you visit the 5-lug section to get more focused advice related to our red-headed step-child version of the Tacoma.
