Maybe just a plastic washer will take up the space then

Freedom, American flags and ISIS blood Morimoto 35w 5500k HID/ LED highs from TRS. RCI expo rack Core Short throw shifter, hypertech speedo recalibrator. Rear seat molle panel. OVT. PnP 2LM. C4 Hybrid Bumper w/ amber BD squadron pods. 33 pizza cutters. T9 radio

I was one of the testers for the new orings. Initially it seems to help, but now 6months+ later both sides bounce. A lot.

that kinda sucks. I don't think any other aftermarket brand matches the light output the morimoto's put out, but I don't want to deal with the shaking of the bulbs.

I'm pretty much in the same boat.

If TRS was in this thread at least acknowledging the problem, I might still be willing to buy. Has anyone mentioned it to them since the redesigned oring is apparently not a working fix for the problem..?

@AFMurse2014 just above said he had the revised orings but they kind of wore out and the problem came back.

I really wonder if having a small plastic washer or shim will make a difference

Yea it sounds like the revised o-rings are in need of another revision.

The washer idea could be worth a try, but would need to make sure it's still seals out moisture. I honestly do not know what the design looks like. My Taco is a couple weeks away from delivery.

Update on my install. WARNING - PIC HEAVY. Got them installed today. Took about 3 hours but that's because I'm anal about hiding the wiring and trying to get it as close to factory looking in there as possible. Additionally, I used double sided tape as opposed to drilling holes in my engine bay. I hate doing that on a 1 week old car. Few observations I took the rubber washer off each bulb and replaced it with the ones provided in the package. I didn't really notice any real difference between the ones that came on the bulbs and the ones I replaced. Maybe they felt a little more supple, but honestly I couldn't tell a difference. That said, I still switched them out. Once in the housing they felt very snug. I had a hard time turning the passenger side for sure, but they were in their solid. No noticeable wobble. Very nice kit for sure and on par with the XenonDepot kit I installed on my wife's Yukon. Drove around for a while and no shake from what I can tell. Now, I haven't driven much, so as I drive more I'll keep everyone posted. Pics below of the install and the new washers.

Will any different brand hid bulbs work with the Morimoto kit? I've heard about others using a HID kit with the 6K bulbs from coolbulbs.com and not have that bounce issue. I was thinking about swapping the Morimoto 5500k bulbs with their 6K bulbs only if they will fit the existing Morimoto kit.

SO is there enough folks here that ordered the 4500's to say that THEY DO NOT JITTER ??

kinda defeats the purpose of getting the morimoto kit then, because it's the quality of the bulb that mostly dictates your light output.

I ordered mine last week but apparently they're on hold/backorder. I emailed TRS and they haven't gotten back to me yet, but I got the 4500K and hopefully no vibration/jitter...

I solved my jitter issues with the original lamps by about 50%. It takes a much harder jolt now to get them to jitter at all. Driving at night on the same freeways, I remember how bad they were when I'd hit the expansion joints on the concrete portions of the highway. They're non-existent now even running with higher tire pressures to stiffen the jolting.

I replaced the gaskets with some from another H11 LED bulb set I ordered from my driving/ fog lights. They're totally flat versus the original conical/ tapered ones. Much better compression and resistance. The durometer feels similar to the "updated" gasket set that the HID came with.

Has anyone tried the oem gaskets off the original bulbs?

EDIT: What about factory lexus hid bulbs? Granted they are pretty expensive and no way of knowing they will fire with morimoto ballasts.

Yes, too shallow and not enough compression on the gasket itself. They're also conical/ tapered.

Yes. They have D2S and D2. That said - the connections won't work anyway without splicing/re-harnessing, which yet again, completely defeats the purpose of getting any car/truck model specific HID kit.

Not to thread jack but I ordered diode dynamics kit after reading some of the issues here about TRS kit. It's still enroute but I'll post review as soon as I install them.
