I have bought 4 new or near-new Toyotas at Bay Area dealers. I haven't had any bait and switch or other sleaze from any of them. Sure they push warranties, etc but that's their job. Most recent was Santa Cruz Toyota (my Tacoma), before that 2 from Palo Alto. The first was in SF but that was back in '95 so probably not so relevant. A friend who is a purchasing professional with 40 years corporate buying/negotiating experience just bought a new Toyota at Concord, said it was painless also. I wish I felt as comfortable with local service departments; Palo Alto was OK for warranty and recall work but the jury's still out on Santa Cruz.

Thank you. I'm in the Santa Cruz area but I commute over the hill for work, was hoping to find a service department that I can trust in the area.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, stay away from DGDG!!! Sleazy, good-ol'-boy type of salesmen.
Now that that's out of the way, I had a great experience with Steven's Creek. Absolutely no pressure at all, and they gave my wife and I a few days to think things over. They also worked with our finances (being college students and first-time car buyers). Service department also actually did the work they said they would do. Nothing but good things to say about them!

    BC folks!
If you haven't purchased yet, I would suggest going to West Coast Toyota in Maple Ridge. See Phil in sales, he will hook you up. He is a good guy, very fair and respectful. Save yourself $ and stress when you buy your Taco!

I also used Kyran at Toyota of Corvallis. Paid invoice and everyone at the dealership was great. If you're in SoCal, I would suggest to fly up and drive back. You'll save some cash since a lot of people arent doing invoice.

If you're in the St. Louis area, go to Weiss Toyota and ask for Mike Collins. Absolutely no pressure and an all around great experience. Purchased 2 new Toyotas from him this summer and 1 last year.

OK, this isn't the first time I've seen this, so now I have a question. I recently moved from CA to OR, and just bought my first Taco up here. When I signed papers, I had to sign a document that basically said "I'm a resident, and I'm not purchasing this vehicle in OR in order to avoid paying Sales Tax from another State."

Has anyone else signed this type of document? If not, how'd you get past paying Sales Tax if your residency is in another State?

Ressler Toyota in Bozeman MT is great to deal with. I have bought 4 Foyotas from them and just picked up my Taco 2 weeks ago from them. The offer best pricing and saved me 2500.00 over anything I could find in CO or WY
