Just a slight 1 inch lift.
My plan is to turbo my 2001 Toyota Tacoma Stepside bed. I bought a turbo kit off someone on Craigslist who's truck was turbo before he blew it up because he ran too much timing. It's parts of a cx racing kit, with a map ecu3 and harness, and a turbonetics turbo. I'mean hoping to get it installed within the next few months, as I'm planning on adding a few small thing to the kit and ceramic coating the headers, and the turbo. Other than that it's ready to bolt on.

Here's a picture of the majority of the turbo stuff. I'll get a lot more pictures of the turbo stuff soon.

I forgot to mention the power and amount of boost I'm shooting for! That's the most important part, almost as important as photos  I'm shooting for 350whp at 8 psi. I saw a old thread of a turbo 5vz with around 350whp at 8 psi and I believe it was a tacoma. I dont know his exact setup, so I'm just going off those numbers and shooting for that. I'm thinking about running 10 psi, but am a little weary that it won't be a really reliable setup at 10 psi.

Fuck man, I'm at about 8-10 psi supercharged and I would think I'm getting around 300whp.

Awesome find man! Used turbo kit for a Tacoma. One of the few documented turbo builds here makes 310/380 at the wheels on 11 psi and methanol injection but he's in Denver so MAP is like 23-24 psi.

The build you're referring to that made 350 had custom headers and possibly other custom parts and was used for drag racing so I wouldn't recommend trying to replicate.

I think just at 300 is a safe number to hit and you'll be fine on the stock tranny and clutch.

I'm running 12 psi now and nothing has exploded yet but I'm also at a higher altitude so it's about 25 MAP as well.

Good to know somebody else saw that thread. I'm not exactly trying to replicate it, they were just some promising numbers. I was under the impression that he had a custom setup and I don't remember if he said what octane fuel the truck was running. I'd be happy with 300whp at 8 or 10 psi, I also want to run on 92 or 93 without meth injection.

8psi won't get your near 350. I'm at 9psi and estimated no more than 300whp based on my timeslip trap speeds. I was cranked up to 14lb on my old 4runner and I did estimate that one to be around 350whp. YMMV. I need to hit our local Dynojet- been saying that for nearly a year now though.

Okay. I'd be happy with 300whp. That'll definitely give this truck some attitude. I might go have it tuned professionally and get some dyno runs for numbers. If not I'll tune it myself, but it'll be my first time tuning. So I've got a lot to learn about tuning.

Good luck!! I saw a step side with 250k on it sell for $15k two weeks ago

Tuning is tricky at first. It takes a lot of tweaking to actually determine how the changes you're making to the software are affecting the engine. Mostly due to the trucks ecu, the only way to tune it is very indirect so you have to do a bit of science to determine what to set things at.

What are you using for injectors and pump? For 10 psi you'd probably be looking at 400-440cc. It's pretty key to find out the exact size you'll need. I thought I was being safe by over shooting and it turns out the farther away you are from the target the harder it is to tune.

Pumps are similar. The pump only has one speed and it's either on or off. The amount of fuel your injectors see is controller by something else. All the fuel that is pumped but isn't sent to the rail goes back into the tank so if your pump is too big you get this situation where too much of your fuel is being cycled through the pump and back to the tank and as a consequence all of your gas starts to get really hot.
