    Put some work in with @Timbo89 today at Kitchen fab! We cut the BAMF upper shock towers off in the rear and Tim welded up some Ford Shock Towers in order to fit 14" stroke bilstein 5125s. Came out great! Squeaky now has 9" of droop and 5" of compression in the rear.

    Yes sir, we had about 5.5" til bump so we mounted it 26" eye to eye instead of 27" which would given and even 7" up and 7" down

    Hmmm...so ride height is 26" and there's 5.25" of up-travel before the shock tops out. The axle has 5" of up-travel before it's on the bumps. It works on paper, I guess, but there's a couple of things I'm still wondering about: Under a hard hit, like the one that blew the lid off my cooler back in October, the rubber bump stop is going to compress a bit. If it compresses more than a quarter inch, then the shock will top out. Also, since the mounts are on the outboard side of the springs, under full articulation (one side at full droop and the other at full compression) there will be more than 5" of up travel at the shock mount location...how much more, I dunno, but with only .25" of cushion, it's not hard to imagine the shock could top out.

    When I measured for my shocks after Todd welded in the new mounts for them, I took the spring pack apart, and put the axle back on with just the top 2 springs (I would have went with just the top spring, but it was military wrapped and I didn't feel like taking the springs all the way off the truck). Then I jacked the axle up until it was hitting the bump stops and measured the distance between the mounts. I had already taken the measurement with the axle at full droop with the spring packs assembled. The upshot is, my compressed measurement had the thickness of the assembled spring pack built in as about an 1" of cushion with about another .25" added due to the length of the shock. I guess it's possible that a hard enough hit could compress the rubber bump 1.25" but I doubt that's likely.

    If needed he could run a cone style bump. We went and flexed it and got a few measurements
