I've had the Anti-Dark Engine Bay LED lights installed on my '03 PreRunner for about 4 months. Definitely recommend!!
I'd like to install a simple Toggle Switch in the engine bay that would allow me to cut it off if I plan to keep my hood raised for an extended period of time.
I would keep it hooked up to the pin switch.
Has anyone done this or can provide a simple diagram of how to wire?

End Goal: Currently I raise the hood and the pin switch activates the lights. If I were to keep the hood raised for an extended period of time, I'd like to have a toggle switch to cut it off. Again, I'd just mount it somewhere in the engine bay.

why not just make a swivel lock that would keep the pin switch in the down position while the hood was up and you could turn out of the way when you want it to act as designed?

Hey Chaosrob, I'm trying to envision something like that but I'm at a loss....even after doing several google searches.
I may just go to radio shack tomorrow and purchase a 2 prong toggle switch and try that.

I used a simple toggle switch with power directly from the battery, fused of course. Circuits don't get any simpler.

put your toggle switch inline with your pin switch.

Rick, appreciate the response. I'm leaving the push pin in place, which the black ground wire from led's is hooked up to. Shouldn't I be able to install the toggle switch on the ground wire? That way when the hood is raised, the lights will come on (from pin switch). If I wanted to cut them off, I would flip the toggle switch to the off position breaking the ground??

Big Thanks to everyone. Went to the Shack today and purchased a single pole toggle switch, and installed it on the bracket that holds the VSV Valve. There's already an empty hole in the mount so I used a step drill to widen to 1/2" for the toggle switch.
    Works like a champ!
