none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I'd buy one. BUT... after seeing the issues my Aunt's VW TDI is having, which is a direct result of emission equipment fouling up the intake, I'd be concerned that Toyota would have the same problem. Apparently Mahindra- the Indian truck company- still has plans to bring their small diesels here this fall.

I'm loyal to Toyota... but I will definitely be open to trade for a Mahindra diesel if it comes here... just not the first year model.

I would trade in my 2009 with 2k miles on it in a hot second for a diesel tacoma, especially the 3.0L common-rail turbo diesel that was previously available in the hi-lux! mmmmmm torquey goodness and 35-40 mpg .....

Reading between the lines on Post #1, I think Toyota is saying: "Yup, we hear some of you want diesel, but our R&D money is going into hybrids. So thanks for your interest, but it ain't happening." They just said it more politely.

That being said, I want a diesel.

The Hilux is a mean SOB!!! I live in Japan right now and owned a gasoline version for about a year! This thing went through everything and then pissed on it after it got out! I actually looked at brining it back..... As bad as it was, not really worth bringing it back! Lets say you find a decent diesel, maybe $7000- $15,000, Not too bad. Then about $5000 in conversions, another 3000+ to ship it... still not that bad. MONTHS of paper work and waiting and inspections and a process full of run-arounds and people who have no idea what to tell you...... endless headache! It will be easier (and probably cheaper) to hope for a diesel Tacoma!:(

I have a hilux with the 3.0L common rail turbo diesel.... If I could bring it with me to the US I would. Its a great vehicle...

However, based on the numbers the torque and HP from the 4.0 v6 gas engine in the Tacomas are higher than the hilux. On the flip side, the MPG of the diesel is amazing... plus I dont have to worry about driving thru water :D

You guys want me to post pics?

The Hilux sold in austrialia uses the same 4.0 v6 gas engine as the tacoma. They also come with a 3.0 diesel engine option (1KD-FTV) ... So i'd say it might take some slight work... however I believe its possible.

Landcrusiers make Hiluxs look like Dodges. Solid axles, V8,I5,I4,I6 diesels, no bells and whistles, Lockers and winches. Sucks that you cann't get a new one in North American. You have to get one that is 15 years old if you want to do it the "legal" way, new ones donn't even have airbags or a license plate light.
I would drive the landcrusier at work up to 50 mph in 4low at any chance, run the engine at 6 000 rpm all day, and take every jump there was. Crazy those things would last that long, even if they are toast after 2500 miles.
