Going for a little trip today, back county roads . SSR-6100-47 do rest on the frame. The ride is very little change and going over bumps very little bounce up. Lot of the time I’m empty. I’ll be haul a two place snowmobile trailer 2400 lbs a few times a year with gear in the bed. Has anyone have feed back on going over bumps with the blue ones? SSR 610-47 are more money then SSR 610-40.
I’ll report back after my little trip and if I’m going to keep them.

This one is on another thread. @Lostsheep made to accomodate the super bumps into a ubolt flip. Could be possible for the Sumo's with ubolt flips.

No need to get fancy... just pop the bump stop on the frame side instead of the axle side.

Wouldn't that hit the bolts on a flip?

shouldnt so long as the bumpstop is centered and its smaller than the bolt pattern. A measuring tap will tell you this.

Might work for the super bumps but I don't think it can be done with the sumo's since they are much wider.

The ride was firm going over rolling hilly roads. No body roll. I’m happy. I'm keeping them.

Oh nice!! You lucked out too with getting those ones too. How much more are they?? I'm assuming they're the same height as the Tacoma sumosprings?

Does anyone know if the SSR-610-40 kit provide any lift on a 2nd gen? I have fresh recall springs on now and would like to get 0.5 to 1" of rear lift while adding some support to the leaf pack, eliminating squat and get help with light towing. I understand it as these are in contact with the frame when unloaded and slowly compress as load increases. Since my level of 'off roading' consists of forestry/logging roads, I don't think these will be an issue.

Other options I'm considering are Hellwig EZ990 series helper springs. (Or Superspings, but those are getting pricey, too close to not consider a new leaf pack). Also curious how would Sumpsprings compare to Timbrens, but I suppose these would be better for what I want to accomplish? I don't want to deal with air bags.

@kryten, I just installed this today on my truck and I have 2 inch lift inch the rear with HS AAL + Overload with the new recall leaf pack. I barely have half an inch or even less between the sumosprings and frame. So I can imagine, it will probably give you at least a in lift in the rear if your rear is stock. The sumosprings may be a little taller than the timbrens but I could be wrong.

    What hasn't been modified?
Yes it touches the frame, and it does lift on stock. From what people say it's around 5/8 of an inch lift. I've liked them I have about 300 lb of sand in bed and can't tell from outside

Thanks, 5/8" would be just about right what I would want plus of course the main reason, support with towing and load in the truck. Once it is warmer here, I will measure distance from top of the leaf pack to frame to get a better idea what to expect.

For Canadians, curious where you order these from? I'm still not decided between these and Hellwig helper springs. I can get Hellwig 979 kit locally for about $200 CAD, Sumo's from US are way over $300 after conversion and freight.

I just installed sumosprigs with an icon aal in the back I'm trying to figure out if this would be problematic because with the lift it does not make contact now

Saw your post in the other thread. The Sumo's are supposed to sit with between the leaves and the frame rails as it acts like an airbag. I don't think it's going to cause an issue if it's not touching the frame due to a lift but if you do load your truck, it will squat more as you have the gap to overcome before the frame touches the Sumos. I haven't installed my Sumo's with the spacer yet as just haven't had time but I did measure. I currently have a 1.5" rear lift installed and without the 1" spacer, I would have at least a 1/2 gap.

Right on thanks I was only worried that I'll hit the sumospring when going over bumps because it's so close to the frame but not touching

Shouldn't be a problem. People with stock set up have reported a stiffer ride with the Sumo's touching the frame.
