Swirls generally come from poor washing and drying technique. If you are not using a quality wash mit with the 2 bucket system, quality drying towels (or where applicable, a blower), and a detail spray type lubricant while you dry, you'll probably end up with swirls. Invest in some quality materials and watch some "how-tos" on youtube about the subject. If you already have swirls (I'm sure you do - as the overwhelming majority of people do), they can be removed with a dual action polisher and quality pads and compounds.

ETA: I'm not sure where you're located, but if you're in central Texas I could show you how to properly care for your vehicles paint. I'm not a professional, but I do paint correction/detailing on the side.

Do you have swirls? If so then look for reputable detailer if you want paint correction. More than likely you do depending on your wash method. I did a wash job on a 2 year old Escalade with 6000 miles this weekend and the paint was terrible due to improper washing methods from previous detailer. Still shaking my head at it since it was done by someone doing detailing for a living.

As stated above use a 2 bucket wash with quality drying towels and wash media. Don't forget to get a quality soap. Not all soaps are the same....not even close.

It's decent. Not the best, but absolutely not the worst. Generally speaking most Meguiars products are decent enough.

It will probably need to be clayed and paint correction(compound and/or polished) and then sealed. See if the detailer uses sealant or wax. Sealant will last longer than a carnauba wax. I would go over your truck and find all the scratches and defects and point them out to the detailer, let him know you know what you are looking at and what you expect.

Use Adams products. They have an awesome site that has videos to show their products. My black Tacoma has 60,000 miles from the previous owner and the paint was pretty beat. I've got it looking better than new using Their products!IMG_8325.jpg
