Maint Reqd light not working (never comes on)

Hi all,

So after 7300 miles, my idiot light has yet to come on. It should have lit up 2300 miles ago.
usually I write my miles on the filter with a sharpie, and i forgot to do it this time, so it screwed me up a bit.

two things I'm curious about- I had my tranny flushed at 90500 miles over the summer, did my oil change just before. ( i remember because they asked to do it, and I told them I just did it) Is there anything that they could have done that messed with the light? It was blinking when it went in, and I feel they reset it when it was don't, but never came back on.

second thing- i put in a new battery about a month ago. Would that reset the light? I figured since its tied into the odometer that it probably isn't, but still figured I would check.

Any ideas? (aside from taking it in to the dealership, which i really want to avoid)

 

Replacing the battery will reset the light.

No problem, I know from experience replacing the battery, taking the instrument cluster out, etc. will reset the light.

 

gotcha. thats why I put up a thread, i know someone would know!
