I am about to replace the tires on my 2014 tacoma 2wd dbl cab v6, it has 265/65/17, tires can i move to 265/70/17 without rubbing issues? Will it effect/affect (grammar police) my mpg? Just looking for answers, not links, or references to other threads. I am going to buy the tires tomorrow.(Pre runner sport)

I went with 265/70/R17 Duratracs about 30k miles ago on my 09 DCLB and absolutely love em. I did notice a slight decrease in mph of ~1.5 mpg but I also added a bed cap and a roof rack about the same time so hard to discern the actual impact. I am also a terrible lead foot so you may not experience the same effect. lol. Now that I'm lifted I have to make a new decision on whether to move up to 33's. Good luck with the decision.

There is ~1.04" increase in wheel diameter from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17. This is commonly referrred to as a "plus one" and the increase has a negligible impact to speedometer accuracy
and there should not be any fitment issues on the Taco. The 1.04" increase in diameter results in a ~0.52" increase in vehicle clearance height.
