So, my free service visits for my 2015 are all used up and I am NOT going to be paying for oil changes and tire rotations.

My question is what other routine maintenance you all suggest when I do oil / filter / tire rotation at the 5k mile intervals.

My truck is a SR5 Prerunner, so no 4x4 stuff to service. Obviously I will be looking at the brake rotors and pads when I rotate tires. But what other stuff do you check or service?

Grease the zerks on the drive shaft. I usually do this every other oil change.

I did not realize that. I guess he can crawl under the truck and check for rust then :boink:

    I check/top off all fluids
Check cabin and engine air filters
Replace spark plugs @ 30k interval
Change rear diff oil @ 30k interval

Occasionally I will just spend a little time under the truck just looking at everything.

What you listed is pretty much it....only other thing I do is yearly replacement of air filter and in cabin air filter.

Tacomas are low maintenance rock solid trucks, no need to go overboard. Just drive and enjoy.

    Thanks for all the replies!

The dealer service is a joke it seems like. There's been multiple times that they haven't rotated the tires, and at least 2 times that they have checked the cabin air filter and failed to re-install the glove box properly.

Same. I also rotate the tires on each alternating oil change (10k mikes)

I lube my fuel door at every oil change. My 1st tacomas door got stiff and broke off.

If your region is prone to rust, apply this stuff to everything but your brakes and exhaust once or twice a year.
