Figure up loaded weight, add at least 10%... yeah, air bags for adjustability.

Well, There are multiple options as you know. I reviewed the cost, ease if installation and ride change, etc etc.
    I chose the following ...

    Timbren TORTUN4L

    https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...X&ved=0ahUKEwj0sfehtsnQAhWG34MKHbgpAK8Q2SsIBw

Easy to install. (Loosen the leaf spring bolts, remove the frame/axle bump stop, slide in the Timbren, re tighten, enjoy.)
    No Spring removal to install.
Will not affect ride if truck not loaded.
    Will not change original height.

On my set up - 1969 ish slide in scamper 7.2. Without load I have approx 1 inch between bumper stop and frame.

Others will prefer / suggest other solutions ....

Do you want to do the minimum, or be beefed up properly. Air bags will get you the support you need with ability to fine tune your ride. You'll still be putting major stresses on your stock leaf pack on acceleration and braking. If you're the type to over build things, I recommend Dakars with Timbren bumps. I have Dakars with air bags because I added air bags long before my leaf pack. Air bags replace your bump stops and need to always have at least 10 psi - which adds more lift than I'd like. The Timbrens are there when you need them, but aren't in contact with anything when your leaf pack isn't flexed. DoorDing has the setup I want (he's been MIA for a long time, but I think his build is still up).
