3 inch TOYTEC lift with Bilsteins Total Chaos uniball UCAs BAMF sliders
So I have Bilstein 5100 front shocks from a Toytec 3 inch lift kit and to clear my 33s I have a 1/4 inch spacer on top of that.

The spacer makes it ride rough and I'm about to throw on a steel bumper, so I was wondering if I could swap the coil for a longer one to rid of the spacers on top... is that a thing? Or does that not work

Yeah that's a thing. Get some OME Springs and set the shocks at 0. They recommend the 886 for putting weight up front. But if you're concerned it'll be too stiff people like the 887. It's the same spring rate as the (softer) 885 but it's slightly taller.

The ride quality is more from preloading the springs on the high perch to create the lift. That reduces travel and can cause binding.

While you 'may' need longer springs, you definately need stronger. Figure out your total additional weight. Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and tell her your goals.

It could be you will need a better shock to control the new springs. And remember, when you read a #rating on a spring that's not a total capacity, thats a per inch of travel number.

I have 887s on the 5100's with an arb bumper and no winch. It rides pretty well, washboard can be kind of brutal, but on the trails and doing slow stuff it's fine
