    Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce my new 2017 TRD OR to the site. It's my first brand new vehicle and my first vehicle with an automatic transmission. I've owned 2 tacomas in the past but they were both 4cyl with manual transmissions (2007 access cab prerunner and 2008 access cab 4x4). Here she is:

For the record, I like the access cab better, but with a 2 week old baby the double cab made more sense.

Smart move. They only get bigger and that back seat will become increasingly more important

It was on the sidewalk for 30 seconds while I took the picture, I'm too paranoid of someone getting mad and hitting my truck lol

How do you like the auto and the V6 compared to your old 4banger? I've got the 2.7 with 5 on the floor and was wondering what the power upgrade is like? Thanks

It's great, the truck feels super light, and I like the RPMs stay under 2k when cruising on the highway. It has no problems going up hill, plenty of power, and much more than the 4cyl for sure. I think you would enjoy it. I also test drove the 6-speed manual, but it was noisier than the automatic (which is normal). Also, I'm getting better fuel economy. If you have specific questions let me know, I'll be happy to answer them.

The power increase is great, went from 4 to 6.

Sounds like you are enjoying the auto trans, I didn't get to test drive the manual, so I just ordered one and love it. When you say it's noisier, what do you mean?

It's just louder, you know, accelerating after every shift etc. I was noticeable for me for some reason, I even went to another dealership and did the same thing, asked them to let me drive a manual and an automatic, the manual is a little louder, the engine and how it's couple to the transmission I suppose. Nothing wring with it, it's normal, I just happen to notice it.

K, I think I know what your saying. Could also be the gearing, not sure but know I love getting it up to 4K plus, sounds way better than that 4 banger

I didn't rev it that high lol...you seem to be getting pretty mpg with the manual, 18.7 isn't bad at all. I haven't gone through my first tank yet, which the dealership paid for, but I'll be happy if I can get 18mpg.

Yeh, I thinks it's pretty good, just stay off the highway. I seem to do better doing 60 on the back roads than 70 on the highway. I was hopping for better mpg, but I didn't get the taco for the stellar mpgs

Same here, I ride my motorcycle to commute to work when the weather is good and the truck when it's too cold or raining, so I don't care too much about mpg. Mainly I got the truck for the car baby and so I can start camping again.
