I'm thinking about an inexpensive soft tonneau to replace my shell (topper, camper). One reason is to be able to quickly roll it or fold it and have full access to the bed for loading or hauling bulky items. I have a 5' bed and it seems that a tri fold will still obstruct 1/3 of the bed, or block the rear window if it's folded and tipped up. Doesn't really make sense to me, but obviously they're popular so there have to be some benefits. Why did people pick one over the other? Thanks!

I went with the "Retrax One MX" roll cover, I've been reading customer reviews for over a year and was looking for a cover that would offer some security plus wear well in the hot Florida sun. Many of the roll-up tonneau covers I've seen look shabby after awhile the Velcro wears out and the covers don't lay flat along the sides anymore. So I spent the $1250.00 bucks on the "Retrax" plus it has a good warranty and I watched the YouTube video on how it's designed. Good luck on deciding what cover to buy.

Roll up take up space in the bed. If you have short bed to start with it screws you.

Trifold you can fold up and take 0 bed space

4" Maxtrac Spindles, Dakars and extra leaf, SOS Concepts bed rack, Lund tonneau cover, RTT,
A manual roll up take sup very little space. 4" rolled. The Lund I have is great and I can say enough about the service warranty. When the Velcro failed they sent me brand new rails 7 years after purchase. Nothing but photos needed and rails were on the way.
