I have either 5 or 600lb coils on my fox shocks (I had them re-powder coated) but when I ordered them from down south motorsports, Fox had a specific valving for use with the chaos kit. I didn't want to pay the astronomical price for the chaos specific shocks that fox and king now make. My fox's are actually a little long compared to the kit specific shocks. It really comes down to valving on whether or not u need a 5 or 600lb coils. I also have a pelfreybilt hybrid bumper with a Warn M8000 winch. Also, if you run a bypass up front that will determine your valving/ coils.

True story, a fox 16" triple bypass is the same price as an 8" triple bypass....lol

600lb coils is what ur gunna want, springrate sets your ridehieght not the valving completely unrelated to each other for the most part

TC specific shocks are nothin special it's just a capover shock top, and if your 4wd u need an extended rod end to clear the cv. Seriously do some reading and use the search function

So. Toyota is taking about $4000 of my money saved up for this, due to my tranny and clutch going out, and other little things.
    -
Therefor in about 2-3 months I will be purchasing the LT kit.
    -
From here on out, it's all about learning more and preparing myself more. I want this truck built right, not cheap.
    -
This will be an overland/prerunner rig, so if anyone has any ideas please tell me! I'm open to anything as of now I don't have my mind set on anything...yet:thumbsup:
IMG_7140.jpg Here's how my truck sits now. Just realized I haven't posted a pic yet.. :D

I know it's not hard, I'm getting a new slave cylinder , resurfaced flywheel, and it is all certified Toyota, under a 2 year warranty.. Pretty much every clutch component was worn out. Never been redone with 180k miles on it.

If that's all they are doing for 4K that's crazy. I wouldn't worry about the warranty. If own parts are used they won't go bad within 2 years. I usually charge less than half of that and parts are covered for 12 months and labor for life.

I wish I had an extended rod end and a shorter resi. The spring cup is close to my CV but doesnt rub (~3/4" clearance). The biggest issue I have is when I get an alignment and the caster/ camber are adjusted. I am limited on how much adjustment can be done because I dont want my tie-rods to hit my coils at full steering lock. The last guy that did my alignment took about an hour but got it to where there is no rubbing on the coils from the tie-rods. Overall, my tire wear isnt bad and I don't have any cupping with my Toyo M/T's .

    ...too much shit to list.
4" stroke bumps are too long for a leaf sprung truck. You'll hit them way too soon in bump travel and makes the truck buck.
2-2.5" stroke and around 75 psi is the sweet spot.

Yeah, my decision though. I wanted it all redone through Toyota. It's pretty damn expensive I'll give ya that forsure haha. I'm getting a new clutch, slave cylinder, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, flywheel, and labor those Toyota specialists are damn expensive.

Also, my 2nd 3rd and 4th gears went out. So that needed to be replaced as well.

So you're getting a rebuilt transmission at that price as well? That changes things a little bit

Do most guys shorten the stroke of a 4" bump to get the right setting around 2-2.5"? There's no difference in price so 4" seems like it would give the flexibility to go slightly over 2" if needed. I'm going to order some next month / Jan so this came at a good time - I hadn't read enough about them but looking it up I see that most guys are saying what you said on other sites too.

Also the kit that I'm looking to buy comes with 2.5" dia which I know are bigger than necessary but the kit is engineered together with the bump mounts and strike plate so I would run them a lower pressure than 75 psi I believe - just how much is the question. Would it just be a matter of a ratio of surface area from the 2.0's to the 2.5's? Thank you.

All I can say is. DAMN LONG TRAVEL IS CONFUSING! Still lots to learn. These few months will give me time to figure everything out. Talked to a math teacher today about my bed cage. Got a good understanding of that, won't be too bad.
Now it's to learn about shocks, bumpstops, etc :D

What does a math teacher know about bedcages, motion ratios and shock stroke arcs?

He was an engineer, he understood what I told him. Kinda said the same thing you said, find the bisector of both the arcs.
