just took possession of a 2006 Tacoma Access. We feel like we made a major score because vehicle only has 80k.
I cleaned it up today and noticed that the drivers armrest is broken. The fabric is not torn. But when you feel the structure under the "elbow" spot, it is obvious that it is cracked and broken through.
I did a search and found the thread about the cover or fabric replacement, but I didn't find anything about the structure.
    Thanks
    Perry

Looks like it is also stained. Repair will be tough and pointless. Just replace it

I have not found a source yet for just that armrest insert. And not willing to pay for new door panel.
Actually it's not stained, the variation you see in color and nap is from the cleaning. Which was still damp. Fabric and attached padding is in remarkably good shape.
I have ground off plastic rivets and have now removed the insert. Will attach a sister bandage stiffener. I will post photos of the process and the end result. By the way, I'm an upholsterer. I just do household and commercial furnishings now. Haven't done automotive work in maybe 10 years so this is not so foreign to me. Just wanted to ask first if there was a good clean fix already out there
