I recently got a 2001 with the towing package. I have read that you should install a transmission cooler. In looking, it appears that there is one already on there with the towing package. Is the one that comes on there good enough or should I replace it with an aftermarket?

Take a picture of what you have.

This is a stand alone cooler not the factory one in the bottom of the radiator ??

    Transmission Temperature gauge ??

Do you plan to be towing quite often??

If it has a "Towing Package" it should be set up fine. Flush the fluid and you're good to go.
