Get something aftermarket that supports steering wheel controls. Most units do. Then you get the axxess aswc 1 to connect it to truck

I replaced the 2012 unit with a 2015 Entune premium + navigation unit. It wasn't any more expensive than aftermarket, and functions like the factory radio it is.

And sounds as crappy. If you're gonna spend the money might as well upgrade the sound to something that doesn't make your ears bleed

I have a 2012 TRD Sport shorty bed. I have a Kenwood DNX570HD the GPS is by Garmin. Sounds like a million bucks. Built in everything including built in EQ and crossovers. There is an adapter for the steering wheel control that works great. The only thing I don't like is that the - and + for the stations doesn't advance or retard my station presets. It advances the station on the dial like seek does.
Works perfect with the CD player and with the USB. Advances or returns to the next song. Been installed for 3 years now and never an issue.
