I have an 05 Taco Pre-Runner with 224,000 miles only minor repairs have been needed otherwise this truck has been a beut...Until Now looking at my engine there is LOTS of oilycrud built up on the passenger side of the engine starting from around the P/S pump towards the engine and leading all the way down to about the front of the transmission...now I'm hoping by some miracle it's not the timing cover, but it most likely is. Once again I'm obviously past warrenty with the age of the truck and the 224,000 miles, So I have no idea what to do why there isn't a free fix from Toyota for this I don't know I personally am supprised that there isn't because it's so widespread.

So if there's anybody that can help me with this PLEASE DO! Because yesterday I went to go to school started the engine and immiediatly heard knocking too which I found out I had no oil left do to this leak ;(
    Thanks for the help...

First, you should check the oil level everytime you fill up at a minimum. That is without a known oil leak.

Second, Do you really think Toyota is going to cover a gasket leak on a 10 year old vehicle with 224,000 miles on it. Not going to happen my friend.

    Third, Check the oil level.

What is widespread? This is the only truck with this problem right now, so far as I can tell.

Your truck needs repairing. Fix it, or pay someone to fix it.

    Welcome to vehicle ownership.

The first thing you need to do is clean the engine so you can tell where the leak is coming from. I use a pressure washer , I know many people will tell you that it will damage electrical components but keep the water away from them. No company is going to repair a problem on a vehicle wit 200 thousand miles on it.
