Hey fellas, I'm currently talking to Adventure Ready in WA regarding a group buy for the Alu Cab Gen 3 RTT. The reason I want this particular tent is because it's made entirely of aluminum with ability to strap gear on top of the roof. If you know Alu Cab, they are well known for their quality fabrication and superb material. The original price is $3550, which is close to or less than James Baroud, Maggiolina, and Tepui Hardshell. Not to mention, if you are in CA like I'm, taxes and shipping will ruin the deal for me.

So why a hardshell? I have TJM Yulara on my trailer, it's not a bad tent but I have to climb around like a monkey to get this thing deployed and packed up. It's a bit of work but I want something simple, easy to put away so I can keep going on my trips. If I was to put my TJM on the roof of my Land Cruiser with 4" lift and 37" tires, I would hate it even more, I honestly wouldn't put it on my roof unless I absolutely have too. I rather take my hammock than deal with being all over the roof to get this thing packed up, deployment isn't so bad.

I prefer the Aluminum hard shell over the composite shells, aluminum is stronger, doesn't require waxing, if you have bad luck and hit a branch you don't have to worry too much. Composite shells are generally made of fiberglass, will get UV damage and become weak and brittle if not well maintenance.

I was able to get this amazing deal and share it with you guys, supply is extremely limited, shipment is coming in at the end of January so we have to move fast and put a hold on the tents.

Adventure Ready is offering 10% off and free shipping to Fresno CA.
Alu Cab Expedition will come out to $3195 shipped.

PM me first if you are interested in this, you can contact the distributor directly for payments and questions.

So it's confirmed, we need 5 orders to get $3200 shipped to Fresno. If you want it shipped else where, you will have to pay for it. If more orders are in LA area, I can have it shipped to OC.

I'm not interested in a tent, but maybe a canopy (2016 DCSB) ... if they could offer a discount for that with the tent buy, plus free shipping. I could pick it up in Fresno.

If you could work something out for just the canopy I'd be interested. Planning to get one anyway, if I can same some cash that would be nice.

@elduder have you seen an actual canopy at Adventure Ready since they're not too far from you? I'm very interested, but with no dealers within 800 miles I'm hesitant to pull the trigger based on photos and video only.

I haven't, but the next time I head up to Seattle I plan to check them out. Their canopies are very popular overseas though and I've only heard good things about them.

I have a AluCab Canopy and Love the thing! Check out my IG, or if you are local to Portland I'd gladly show it off for you!

When will Adventure Ready have Tents back in stock? Is this offer only for Silver tents or Black ones as well?

Thanks - I checked out your IG. I have family in PDX, and may visit them in January so I might take up your offer. One question ... since my Gen3 has the curved tailgate, it looks like in that application the AluCab rear window seals against the top surface of the tailgate and doesn't overlap like on a Gen2. Do you think this would provide an adequate dust and moisture seal?

I believe it would but I am not 100% sure as I haven't seen one on a 3rd gen yet. You could always add an additional seal against the inside of the of the tailgate since its flat.

Curious why you say the tent is "meh"? Have you seen one in person?

3k+ for an rtt because its in an aluminum box doesn't do it for me. There are plenty of other great tents out there that don't cost anywhere near as much.

Not if you want a hard shell tent, Most hard shell RTTs are in this price range if not more.
