I was wondering if anyone else had this issue, I have a dclb and the rear doors won't stay open, does anyone know the part that I need to replace to fix this issue and if so what the part number would be ?

I've had the same complaint with my 2012 DCSB

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I park downhill. You would probably want to look at the black plastic door retainer though.

Need more info. Won't stay open when parked on an incline? Flat ground? You open the door all the way, let it go and it just shuts completely? Partially?

Can't say I have an issue. When I open mine the door stays in whatever position I leave it....unless it is windy or something.

Okay, on my front door the is a point where is is held half open and then another at full open where there is resistance to close the door. There is nothing like that on the rear doors...no spots that hold the door at that position while loading the rear doors. My dad's 2013 DCSB rear doors have been the same way and he bought it off the lot with less than 100 miles on it..

Interesting. I'll have to take a peek at mine. Maybe a front one with the notches can be swapped out for a rear one without?

They shut on you whenever you have them open, flat ground , inclined it doesn't matter they will close on you tell they bump on you and then stop .

The part in question is the "door checks", and yes, both rear ones on my '06 were shot too, from the time I bought it used. I never did replace them due to the price.

The point is the door check is intended to prevent the door from opening too wide, not hold the door open.

So is there no replacement part to keep the rear doors from falling back into you

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Thought it served both purposes, both end limit and notched to provide minor holding adjustment at full extension

That is not normal. Even when I park on an incline (facing upward), my rear doors stay open.

2nd. I'm in and out of the back seat often putting the kid in and taking him out of the car seat and the doors stay open.

    winner winner, chicken dinner.

Check straps have contours in them to provide resistance to the door when parked at an incline AS WELL AS providing a stop point for an open door. Just call your dealer and get a price. Easy repair if you know how to remove your door panel and use a ratchet (FYI, Toyota uses loctite on the bolt that goes into the jamb. No need to replace the loctite, but you may need a little muscle to remove it)

Google Toyota OEM Parts and then you can eventually find a fiche(doubt they use them anymore) or parts blowout and get the part number from there. You can then search eBay/interweb or order online via part number instead of slang terminology.

Looked them up and I'm not even sure they are the right part or part number if anyone wants it or needs it . They are pretty pricey for what they are even on eBay as used
