Finally getting around to my TW fix, and I thought I'd post up some pics of my Thanksgiving camping adventures.

I ended up spending three nights out; two on the way back home to Utah, and one on the way back to Colorado. For the most part, the weather was perfect. Cold at night, but clear. On the second night of my outbound leg, an almost monsoonal storm hit me between Grand Junction, Colorado and Green River, Utah. Since it was moving west to east, I knew that I would be camping in the mud, and I was right. It was still a blast.

Anyway, here are some decent cell phone pics:

This! Camping in the mud is never as big of a deal with an RTT it seems haha. One of the main reason why I want one, better camping in wet conditions. Love to see you getting to use the truck now. I dig the mini rack that holds all your action packers too. Solid idea!

Thanks, fellas! It was a great trip, and even though my truck isn't quite there yet, it and my gear performed flawlessly! Couldn't afford to wait until everything is 'done', because we all know that it never is.
Thanks, Mike. The mud was only a minor nuisance. I kinda wish I would have brought along the annex, but next time...

The rack is actually an All-Pro gear rack. Great for three action packers, and it leaves plenty of room in the bed for other goodies!

Haha truth on never done. Since I'm an RTT newb, does the annex pack up into the RTT too? or is it typically kept separate?

I haven't used mine yet, but after airing my RTT out after my trip, I was able to lay the annex walls along the aft side of the ladder and the floor along the forward side. The cover handled it no problem at all.

Granted, that's having the annex pieces still folded up perfectly from the factory, but I'm gonna try to take a bunch of pictures of unfolding it so that I can attempt to get it at least mostly back to that state. But again, if I can, they'll fit under the cover perfectly. I might just get a couple bungees to cinch them to the ladder.

Looks like a blast Jason. How did you find those campsites, or did you just pull off the interstate onto a dirt road and stop there? In a few weeks I'm driving from CA-DEN while stopping in Park City, UT. I'd love to camp in Utah, I just don't know the area that well.

    Thanks, Justin!

Were you planning on staying on 80 from Park City, and then heading south through Wyoming? I actually haven't done that route because I grew up in southern Utah, so it's always been 70 to 15 to get home.

If you wanted to leave Park City and head back down Parley's Canyon to Salt Lake, you can take the 215 belt route to 15, then head south until you get to Spanish Fork. From there, you can take the state highway southeast over Soldier Summit and down through Price. That will drop you onto 70 just west of Green River, but slightly east of where I camped near the San Rafael Swell. If you backtrack slightly after you hit 70, and then take the exit to Hanksville, you could immediately head north on a dirt road and stay where I stayed on my westbound leg, or head south toward Hanksville on the pavement for a few miles until you see a dirt road heading due west toward the Swell. That was the one that I took when I was eastbound back to Denver.

Hope that helps! I have GPS coordinates for those sites if you want to PM me!

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I keep mine in an action packer. I used to fold it up carefully and put it between the RTT and the top cover, which worked fine when there wasn't too much stuff folded up in the RTT. With all the bedding and memory foam mattress topper I fold up in there now it gets a little tight.

Word, I would think it's probably best kept separate on rainy/muddy days anyway, right? Nice to know it can possibly be kept together as well like Jason also said he has been doing.
