    .

I ordered a Fumoto valve via Amazon and they sent the wrong part and it seemed very long too.

Is there a low profile valve that fits a Gen. 3 ... V-6 ... and what is the exact model number ?? .......... Thanks

PS ... Has anyone torn one off ??

I was curious so a quick google search turned up a few that had them open up after hitting debris. I didn't look very hard, but I didn't see any that got ripped off.

...^^^... You can get a plastic locking clip to help prevent opening by mistake ... Amazon sent me a locking clip but the wrong valve ...

I have a Fumoto drain valve and it faile...oh, wait..no it didn't, because it is the greatest thing ever! It seriously takes less than 10 minutes to change the oil. I don't even need to use a rag to wipe anything when I'm done. And as far as catching on anything and opening up, my switch is pointed straight back. I'd have to back up in a big briar patch to get it hooked on something. I do think about it, but no worries. It's a solid design.

And no rubber gloves? :notsure: I don't know . I flip the switch with the tip of my finger and I'm up in the engine bay pulling the filter and checking other stuff. One more flick and I'm filling her up with fresh oil. Easy-peasy. No tools necessary. I came home from deer hunting the other day and did it when I pulled into the garage before going in the house. My wife didn't even notice the delay.

Don't listen to that guy, he's just being a negative nancy. Earlier he was putting people on ignore for simply disagreeing with him. He claimed that he was once at a shopping center and an old lady in one of those mart carts was going like 20 mph, was trying to drift a corner to her car, and one of those hard little wheelie wheels on the back of the cart that are plastic, you know? Came off, flew under his truck and hit his flomoto valve and opened it and he had to buy 3 quarts just to get home...

    Well...

There is a review on Amazon with photos of a guy who came down hard and skid plates didn't protect. The Fumoto crushed/indented the oil pan.

Seems like a one in a million shot! Hitting something so hard it flexes the skid plate with enough energy to push the valve enough to dent the pan. Didn't leak...

I don't see how it could get sheared off. It's tucked up in there right?

I'm gonna try one! Should I get the long nipple or short? SX looks like too many moving parts...

    Thanks,

    W
