    Prior to this year I would have agreed....after this year hunting...Im 50/50...

    We put up a ladder stand on the border of a nice clearcut---in sight for bear bait. State did a controlled burn and we moved the ladder stand uphill about 500 or so yards, and Not only did it the bear bait get burned up when the state did a controlled fire...shortly after that lightning struck the tree right next to where our ladder stand was!!! no other lightning strikes in the area and debris from the tree was 50+ feet away and started its own fire! So astronomical odds...we didnt get hurt or killed was the only odds with us.

    We are still in disbelief of how astronomical odds lightning stuck the tree right next to where our stand was! Our guardian above made us move before we got seriously hurt is all I can explain...

    I had that very thing happen on I95 a few years back to a car that was right in front of me. Luckily that driver handled it perfectly. After watching it happen, I started following trucks MUCH less closely.
