I love my Tacoma don't get me wrong
But
WTF dealer installed or factory installed remote is not available.
WTF can't even lock the vehicle when it is running.
Had a truck full of Christmas presents and my dog.
Wanted to leave the truck running while I went into the bank
but will not lock when it is running.
Push button start does not allow accessories to be used for more that a few minutes
WTF

Use the metal key in the fob to lock truck manually?

Accessories power designed so you don't run battery down or leave in accessories mode and forget about it since you don't have a key to remove to ensure ignition is completely off.. Its for your own good.
Rant over.

 

If the dog is big and mean, you shouldn't need to lock the doors to protect your presents.

 

Is it so cold you need the heater to remain on?

 

I have the same thoughts about smart keys, faux push button starts, alarms, entune and other such wizardry.

 

I had the dealer cut me a key that would only open the doors. This way if I needed to leave my truck running while I'm closing my bar tab I could still keep all the ho's out.
