Yes I do, below 10,000 feet. This is not high altitude. RMNP has lots of grassy peaks and slopes. ;)

It's just ground cover. At this small of a scale, they could be bushes. I like to get a cover over the plaster parts as it makes the scenery start to "pop", which leads to ideas.
some of it will change shade and texture as I continue. There needs to be trees, wild flowers, piles of dirt, etc...but first a base cover is needed.
The time of year I'm modeling, is summer. If it had been in the fall, there would have been more brown and yellow in the ground cover.

The Sound of Music is another example of high mountain peaks with grass...:D

Just to give you a hint of what may be to come, I know it's exciting at this point, so hang on tight..
The various colors and forms of scenery.
Yellow flowers are quite common, and the tree material of various colors for the different seasons.

This is the base cover, a 50/50 mix of the two.

    More tree material

    clumpy stuff

    Some purple too.

And nature (my backyard) will provide fallen logs, and sticks, gravel, etc,,, crushed leaves make an interesting effect too but won't be used on this layout.

I see what you are getting at here, lol. A narrow gauge layout would be right at home with peaks like that.
Mine is just simply a low altitude, scenic foothill/mountain layout, using a healthy dose of modelers license. :)

Well, if I were to change it to that, which I won't, I would capitalize the proper noun and correctly make himself one word.

My first attempt at modeling water was a complete fail.:p
The blue was painted high intentionally as I wasn't sure where the fluid level was going to end. I intended to come back after the "water" was cured and paint it brown and blend in the ground foam, rocks, bushes, etc... Still intend to do that.
This little pond was the better of the two so far.

It will get another layer of acrylic and maybe will level out some more and look beter.
If not, I'll cover it with dirt and call it a drought.

This was the total fail here.
I touched it before it cured :anonymous: you can see the crater.
so a do over is happening.

Maybe the darker paint will represent a deeper lake. It'll be over 24 hours before this is revisited.
