i'm gonna pull the bullshit card!..... In all honesty, life loves throwing curveballs at us. it's a bummer that you won't be able to finish the project. everyone here would love to have seen it finished. maybe your future will be "brighter"<---- get it? haha

all jokes aside. hopefully something good comes your way.

Great idea!! The more I think about it, the more this makes sense. How many times a week do I put a load in the back of my Taco and get flashed by all the people I'm blinding? As for those who say, "Well, just spend 30 secs. with a screwdriver..." am I supposed to get out in the rain and do that 8 times a week?
Why isn't this feature available on all pick-ups and station-wagons? Don't we buy them to carry loads?
Please help me out here. Can you use the same motor and switch for the stock head-lights (you say you have HIDs)?
    Great idea! Thanks!

to whom it may concern.... i've been spending a ridiculous amount of time looking into this. i found various part numbers to help someone out if they ever decide to tackle this mod. i plan on attempting it at some point. not exactly sure when, but some day.

    part numbers for motors:

    03'+ celica headlight motors: 85661-22020
    - 2 are required
    - (there is no difference between LH/RH. the same motor is used for each side)
    - $107 a piece was the cheapest i found for a new motor.

plug that connects to headlight motor: 90980-11016
    - 2 are required

    wires for plugs: 82998-12440
    - 6 are required

    part numbers for switch:

    04'+ sienna leveling switch: 84152-33030

plug for switch: (haven't found yet. still searching)
    - 1 is required

wires for plug: (haven't found yet. still searching)
    - (unknown amount required)

i'll keep ya'll updated when i figure out what the above part numbers are. i understand that this mod can wind up being very expensive, but i figured i would throw the part numbers out there so you guys can try to find them used. when i get home i'll post up a wiring diagram as well.

I was checking into this not long ago. I am actually doing it, once I finish other stuff I am doing. I do not think you need the Toyota wire harness. Just get the motors, and the switch. You can do the rest with regular wiring. I already checked in many forums, and noticed that others have been doing this plenty in other cars. Seems the hardest part is the wiring, and there are a couple weird diagrams out there.

Here is an install. It seems like an easy mod, but it is worthless for most. I would only do this mod if the weight in my bed changes constantly, which for me it does.

The parts for this part of the retrofit should be around $250.00 in any Toyota Parts store. At least that is what I got quoted. The wiring needs to be done by hand, as the wiring that comes with either the Celica or the Sienna is composed of more things than just the wiring needed for these motors.

Just a bit of info to add.

When I get time to do my retro, for which I have the parts sitting in my office, I will post pics of this done as well, since I will be doing it.
