Alright guys here's the situation. I hit a deer with the bumper of my truck, it didn't do any damage to the bumper but when it spun around it put a softball sized dent right in the bottom corner of my cab. I can have the dent pulled easily enough but it also chipped the paint (about the size of a quarter). It will be hard to blend the paint without doing the whole cab, not something I'm wanting to get into. My truck has 178k miles. I'm thinking of painting a 6" strip of Rhino liner or something like that down both sides (except for the fender flares) Has anyone tried this?

Yeah, a few folks have. It's really heavy and to have it last it's a lot of prep work.

I've also known someone to do it with the Herculiner roll on paint from wal-Mart. It was and old blazer and it lasted awhile, but any mud or dirt it's hard to clean off. (Because it's got deep texture)

Paint it just cause the texture is easier to clean. Or there is some stuff called XPEL protective film which I had been looking at. Expensive though. I will probably just sand then paint.

If I use paint it going to be flat black. I saw a Jeep a few weeks ago and it had what looked like Rhino Liner about half way up the doors and it got me thinking.
