Injector problem 1grfe

A while back I had a cyl 1 misfire I replaced the spark plugs and cyl 1 coil. A few days later on a long drive cyl 1 miss returned. I removed upper intake and fuel rail to access the injectors. I removed 1 and 3 injector from the rail checked for debris in the screen found nothing. I swapped the injectors around and everything ran fine for months.
Today coming home from camp truck starts missing approximately 40 miles into my trip. It gets progressively worse the longer it was running. At first it would skip the come out of it if I changed throttle position/ engine load. Then it started missing steady. So I stopped read codes. Cyl 3 misfire. So I removed and re swapped injectors and truck ran fine for the next 75 miles home. Suspect a injector is going open with heat. Curious if anyone has a set of stock injectors for sale or has run into injector failures truck has 173000 on it.

 

Happens. Go to the supercharger group buy thread and see if one of those guys will sell to you. They all had to change injectors so plenty around sitting in boxes im sure.

Read through there. You have a high mileage pump, and vehicle. Components are bound to be wearing out. Injectors, as well clogged fuel filter, and brushes on the pump.

 

Thanks I'll give that a read through. It seems to me that a filter or pump would be a multiple cylinder misfire or cause lean codes on both banks? Either way the filter should be done as I have not replaced it in 30k

 

Im thinking I'll order the urd pump kit just to be safe. I found a member on the a/c group buy that's willing to sell his injectors from a 15 with 20k on it. Are the injectors compatable from a 15 to 05?

 

Yes. Still the same engine.
