I have been out of town for a while . I asked my girlfriend to start my truck because its been sitting for a while. She said she started the truck and heard the belt squealing . I think the altenator was seized , its happened to me before because of the amount of time the truck sits. She says the battery light came on , she left the truck running until it shut down on its own then it wouldn't start . I think the truck overheated because the belt was torn to shreds , the water pump wasn't turning. Question is , is there a sensor there to shut it down or will it run until it seizes due to overheating. Due home in about a week . I hope the engine is OK ?

    OH yes its a 2010 v6

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
It will run until it stalls.

They won't run for long with low battery/voltage either. Hopefully you have nothing to worry about....engine-wise anyway.
