Cool, it's a lot easier going the other direction and coming downhill on the rock section

Some trails have gates that get locked and others don't. I think that recent storms have brought in a lot of rain but not much snow (yet). The last time I went wheeling in the snow in Big Bear was 2012 and it wasn't too bad. The last couple of winters have been on the dry side. I'm leaving the area soon but I'm down to hit Big Bear up again in January. Interested?

Oh, I'm finally done editing and uploading the video from Gold Mountain:

Depending on which route you take to Big Bear, there may not be any CHP officers. I took CA-18W to get up there during the Christmas storms and there were a lot of people who were clogging the road and didn't bring chains/cables or have snow tires, including an idiot who drove his Chevy 2500 (with a massive bracket lift and big tires) going in reverse back down the mountain. Please don't be like these people. If you get stuck going up there and block any plows you'll get a ticket and be towed. If you have 4WD and tires rated for snow use (like Nitto Exo Grapplers or Goodyear Duratracs) you don't have to put the chains on but are supposed to have them. My Nitto Exo Grapplers did great on the snowy roads, but I'm not certain I would trust the KM2s as much for this.
