I was told an early 2016 OEM Tri-fold Tonneau Cover had issues in that they leaked water into the bed, however, something changed late that model year that partially or fully resolved this. Obviously a tri-fold by design is subject to moisture infiltration, but my question for the forum is other than by VIN or "early versus late" model year, how would you visually identify an early tri-fold versus the later version? Is there a new seal? Is there a modification to the brackets on the rail? Are the latches different? How do you tell the 2 apart?

Lol, yeah, turns out...that's why I am wondering if this is a myth, but the source I heard this from claimed there was a difference.

Well, I love reading on this forum because I learn so much - I also have a 2016 (late build 2015) which also had a broken end cap on one of the hinges.

While I had my truck in for my most recent problem with the CPI (that's a whole 'nother thread) I had my service department change the end cap on the hinge.

Well, the cap was replaced and it looks like new but now I have a water leak that I never had before.

I'm not blaming my dealer - their service has been great but now I'm trying to figure out how to stop the leak??

Anyway - I'll stand by for any suggestions.

    Thanks.
